Important Information

Please read through the entire information below before registering your child

for the 2023-24 school year

*Kindergarten will be offered through Gakuen this school year. In order for students to enter Kindergarten level, the student must also be starting kindergarten at their weekday school for the 2023-24 school year.

*Learning platform - Classes are planned to be held in person.

*Registration for the 2023-24 school year will close on July 31, 2023. 

​

*The first day of school will be Saturday, August 12, 2023. The school year will end on Saturday, May 18, 2024. See the 2023-24 Academic Calendar.

*Volunteer service required. Families are to sign up for 4 Gakuen volunteer slots AND to help put your child(ren)'s class basket together for Gakuen's annual Pancake Breakfast & Basket Raffle Fundraiser. There are a few volunteer opportunities on a Friday and Sunday aside from Gakuen hours on Saturdays. Sign up for volunteer service here. There may be other events in which we may ask for any available and willing volunteers. If any family is unable to complete volunteer service, the volunteer service fee for the school year will be forfeited in which case the family will need to pay the volunteer service fee again the following school year.

*Save the date! Orientation for new families to be held in-person on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 9:30am at Gakuen. Please be sure to attend if you are new to our Gakuen.

​

*To participate in Gakuen, ESGVJCC requires for each student to complete and submit a COVID-19 Informed Consent and Waiver. If you have not previously submitted one (for each student), please complete it and upload it on the registration form.

​

*Current ESGVJCC COVID policy requires for any person coming to the community center to provide proof of vaccination or to show a negative COVID test (PCR or antigen) done within 72 hours of visiting the community center. Prior to each Gakuen day, staff, students, and volunteers will have their temperatures checked. A face mask shall be worn indoor and outdoor during Gakuen.

*A new "Remind" class has been created for the 2023-24 school year. Previous Gakuen class will be archived at the end of July. NEW and EXISTING families need to register for this new Remind class to receive communication from the Gakuen Board. 

  • To receive communication via texts - Send a text from your cell phone to 81010 with @gakuen23 in the message box.

  • To receive communication via email - Send an email to gakuen23@mail.remind.com (you can leave the subject blank).

 

*Payment - Once we receive the online registration, an invoice will be emailed to you from the Gakuen office manager. Payment may be remitted in one of following ways:​

  • Online

    • Through a PayPal account, credit card, or debit card

  • In-person during Gakuen hours (cash or check)​

    • Make check payable to ESGVJCC Gakuen with student name(s) on memo line

​

*Families must be a member of ESGVJCC in order to participate in any of its programs including Gakuen. If you are new to ESGVJCC, please pay for a family membership. Payments may be made online here. If you are family of a continuing student, please be sure to stay current on the annual membership.
