*Kindergarten will be offered through ESGVJCC (as opposed to Gakuen). For more information or to register, please contact ESGVJCC Program Director, Melissa Kozono, at mkozono@esgvjcc.org.
*For students to enter Level 1, the student must be at least in 1st grade at their weekday school in 2022-23.
*Registration for the 2022-23 school year to close on July 31, 2022.
*The first day of school will be Saturday, August 13, 2022. The school year will end on May 20, 2023. See the 2022-23 Academic Calendar.
*See tuition information for the school year. Monthly tuition has increased to $75. The material fee ($50) previously paid at time of registration has been divided and absorbed into the monthly tuition. Please note that this change did not affect the total annual cost of tuition for the school year and remains the same as last year ($750).
*Learning platform - Classes are planned to be held in person. However, please note that the learning platform may change depending on the COVID community transmission rate. Gakuen will continue to monitor the situation. Change in learning platform will be updated here until registration ends. Registrants will be notified by email of any changes.
*Volunteer service will be required. Gakuen is a volunteer run program that funds itself, so we need everyone to help to keep up the quality programming. We are asking for families to sign up for 4 Gakuen date/time slots and to help with Gakuen's annual Basket Raffle Fundraiser. Please sign up here. There may be other events in which we may ask for any available and willing volunteers. If any family is unable to complete volunteer service, the volunteer service fee for the school year will be forfeited. The volunteer fee was raised starting this school year to reflect the cost of stand-in volunteers. Please note that should the learning platform change, the volunteer service requirement may change.
*To participate in Gakuen, ESGVJCC requires for each student to complete and submit a COVID-19 Informed Consent and Waiver. If you have not previously submitted one (per student), please complete it and upload it to the registration form.
*For everyone's safety - Gakuen will continue to follow LA County Department of Public Health and ESGVJCC safety guidelines. Current ESGVJCC COVID policy requires for any person coming to the community center to provide proof of full vaccination and booster as eligible or provide proof of a negative COVID test (PCR or antigen) done within 72 hours of visiting the community center.
*A new "Remind" class has been created for the 2022-23 school year. Previous Gakuen class will be archived at the end of July. NEW and EXISTING families need to register for this new Remind class to receive communication from the Gakuen Board.
